About Me

I am a Registered Social Worker living in Sioux Lookout, Ontario, situated in Treaty 3 territory on the traditional lands of the Anishinaabe of Lac Seul First Nation.

I completed my Masters of Social Work in Indigenous Trauma and Resiliency from the University of Toronto in 2025, though which I completed 900hrs of clinically supervised counselling. The Indigenous Trauma and Resiliency field of study focuses on connections between individual, cultural, professional, and academic teachings, whereby trauma and healing practices are approached from a culture-based and community-driven lens.

Prior to entering social work, I earned by Bachelor of Education and worked as a certified teacher at

various elementary and high schools across northwestern Ontario including those in Sioux Lookout, Dryden, Pickle Lake, and Kingfisher Lake First Nation. I’ve taught in both English and French, and obtained my Hockey Canada Skills Academy Certificate for teaching in 2017.

Since starting teaching in 2015, I’ve worked in various roles across the education and health sectors, though it’s my love of fishing and connection to the outdoors that keeps my heart in Sioux Lookout. Being a fishing guide for 18yrs on the English River water system has shown me the ways in which the land and water can support connection to self and others.
